Lost was a super popular TV show broadcast back in 2004-2010 (covering 6 seasons). Given it still had over 11 million viewers (in the US alone) by the end of the show, you’d think those numbers might have won the lottery by now?

And they sort of have – but only a bit!

Did my lottery number ever win? Have the numbers I’ve been playing ever come up before?

It’s a good question, with some interesting answers.

Here’s my take.

So you’re ready to pick your numbers – but you want to have a go at predicting what numbers might come next based on the previous draw results.

So Can Lottery Numbers Be Predicted?

Wow, you could have heard a pin drop all over Florida on Monday.

That’s just totally impossible. What an incredible result. The game is clearly fixed… and other such nonsense could be heard from every direction.

Fans of TV series ‘Lost’ were thrilled to find 4 of the 6 ‘Lost’ lottery numbers came up on the US Mega Millions (4th January).

Enthusiastic ‘Lost’ fans who played the numbers collected $150 each.

The ‘Lost’ numbers are a set of numbers made significant by cropping up in various guises throughout the series.

[Q] Should I play lottery numbers that have a higher frequency of being drawn?

[A] There are lots of interesting things you can do with old lottery results. You can apply all sorts of analysis on past results, and come up with lots of intriguing things.

Even the lottery companies do it themselves.

Every day I see another crazy claim about how certain results can never happen on the lottery. Or how you can avoid ‘unlikely combinations’, and other such total rubbish.

Well stick this story in your pipe and smoke it all you sellers of those dodgy lottery systems!
