What Is the Best Lottery Ticket To Buy?

Simple question right? Wrong, or at least the answer is not that simple.

Here’s why:-

There are different ‘types’ of best when you’re buying a lottery ticket.

Do you want the one with the best chance of winning? Or the one with the best prize? Or the one with the best ticket price? Or the one… see what I mean?

You need to better understand what it is that you want from playing the lottery first. Because what is best for you is not so great for someone else!

So firstly, ask yourself why you are playing the lottery. The answers to this vary a lot, here are some examples I regularly hear:-

• I want to win lots of money (this one is popular obviously!)
• I want to quit my job
• I enjoy the buzz of playing
• It’s just something I do when I go to the local store
• I play lottery with my partner/friend/family member, it’s something we do together
• Habit – it’s something I’ve always done

You can probably identify with some of those.

Now ask yourself which reasons are most important, and how much more important they are than the others. This is what should determine the game you choose and therefore the ticket you buy.

If your main reason for playing the lottery is to win the jackpot and quit your job, then stop a minute. How much money would it take to be able to quit your job?

There is no fixed answer to this. It might be just a few thousand if this means just quitting a job you hate and giving you space to dedicate to finding something better. Or it might mean $1 Million because you already own a house and a car and are middle aged and just never want to work for someone else ever again. Or maybe you have expensive tastes, want a big fancy house in LA, a garage full of cars, more clothes and bling than you could ever wear and millions in the bank – that’s going to take a very big jackpot.

Point is: you need to know your own answer to this because it help you filter out the games that are a waste of your time and money. If you want the bling lifestyle there is zero point playing Pick 3 where the jackpot is tiny. You’d have to win every day for years to get where you want to be!
