In the USA there are currently 17 states that allow lottery winners to claim the jackpot anonymously.
In a further 11 states it’s possible to claim using a trust or company on your behalf.
All other states you cannot remain anonymous.

The number of genuine attempts to ‘rig the lottery’ can be counted on the fingers of one hand — and still leave fingers left over for future use.
Why? Because in any country where the Government is generally not corrupt the national and state lottery games have overseers, auditors and just plain lots of people involved who aren’t dishonest and ‘notice stuff’. Read More

It was red faces all round at the Illinois lottery company last week.
About 3,000 duplicate quick-pick lottery tickets were issued!
Now that’s embarrassing.
[It was a software problem and only affected players in Illinois, USA]
How Could This Happen?
Lottery terminals were being upgraded over the weekend, and part of the software upgrade process caused a problem with quick pick numbers not being cleared down properly. Read More
