“OK, I don’t believe in crystal balls and stuff, but is there such a thing as lotto experts who can predict lottery numbers? There seem to be quite a few around selling software programs and they seem to know lots of complex math that looks really useful?”

Hi Lottery-guy, Every once in while, I get the urge to return to my lottery programming and playing. It has been almost 10 years since I last picked up this urge.

Yes, you are right, about the equal probability of any numbered ball to be selected, however, I disagree with you that it cannot be somewhat predicted.

I have more than once programmed a computer to predict and collect on 5-6 Classic Lotto games. I have and still use statistics and probablities to predict the numbers.

Now that I am semi retired, I plan to do it again. This coming year. Look for my website.

    Hi Russ,

Welcome back to the fold 🙂

You can’t have it both ways with probabilities though I’m afraid. If every ball has an equal probability, then how can it be be predicted..! It’s just not possible.

Lottery statistics may be intriguing but they are of purely historical interest, and no value in predicting anything.

I can predict 1 to 2 of the numbers in any Pick 3 for the following pick for 67% of all picks. No fancy math or computers… no magic either.

You will not win much with that, but if you can figure out what I am doing we need to chat.

Here is an example from the NC pick 3 lottery, the winning numbers for the middle of Dec 2010 (not in exact order) – followed by my predictions and the next draw.

    541 my prediction 2,7,0.
962 was next draw (i got the 2)

Next prediction for 962 is 4,5,9
Next draw was 993. (got the 9)

And one last time the prediction for 993 is 5,6,7
And next draw was 954. (got the 5)

If you can tell me how to profit from this, and it works, I will share how I do it.

Otherwise don’t bash me, help me understand why it works. I have not tried it on any lotto game yet. But if my theory works the way I think it does, it can be used on any lotto game with the same level of success.

Hope somebody is reading this and will be nice with their answer.

Hi, I read your comment and I think we have something in common, and we can mix our knowledge.

Yes, I would like to get a tip on Indiana Daily 3 midday number. Last nights number was 162.

      • LG

No problem. It will be 261. The midday draw is always the exact inverse of the previous nights draw, but only in Indiana though – it doesn’t work anywhere else. Oh, and only in April, on the 1st of the month…

        OK, two REAL tips:-
        1. Stop playing Pick 3, it’s just not worth it (see how to win the Pick 3 lottery -ish )
        2. Predicting numbers is 100% impossible. It’s a total lie. (Did you read the post above.!?). Just because some misguided people believe they can does not make it true…

    • Chris Hunt

      The next number is 295.

    • James

Yes you can predict the lottery, win 3 and win 4 numbers. First things first, expect to lose, you need good start up capital. Second know what you are up against, it’s just a simple computer picking the numbers not random balls popping up. Why do you think on the live draws no balls get stuck or any other machinery malfunctions, or why there’s a 20 minute gap before you can buy your ticket and the drawing. It’s the computer calculating the least amount of payout.

For 6/49 I correctly predict every time
that 7 numbers will be drawn. . .

    Haven’t been wrong yet!

Hi. Other than Ace Lee (How To Win Scratchers) is there any other book for winning scratch cards in UK? i.e. which are the best ones to buy, plus how do you find out which batches of cards have no prizes left so you don’t keep wasting money?

    • LG

      Hi Neil

I’m not aware of any scratch card book specific to the UK, but the general tactics are the same worldwide anyway. The ‘Ace Lee’ book is the only one I’ve read that I’d recommend (but only that one, don’t waste your money on ANY of his other lottery books!).

There are probably others that may be as good – let me know if you find one you recommend and I’ll let everyone know – but scratchers are not my thing so I don’t research them much.

That said – for the UK Lotto instants there is a page on their official site that tells you what big prizes are left – it’s vital to check this regularly before buying cards. As you say, no point buying cards where the big prizes have already gone!

Hi… The pick 4 in ohio has been pulling up strange numbers lately… a lot of double pairs… The Feb. 8th midday was 3827… ~ any idea what the evening draw could be???

    • LG

You’re seeing significance that just isn’t there. I promise you there is nothing unusual going on, and nothing that can be used to predict what comes next.

If it helps work out how many of all the possible combinations are ‘double pairs’ – it’s a lot more than you might think.

  • Scott

Any good tips on midday or evening for the Ohio pick 4? Evening draw was 6434?

  • Ron

Well I guess the numbers will be above 1 but below 49, and I am almost positive that the same number will not be repeated on that draw on that same day.

And I can say that with 100% accuracy…

  • Ron

If you ask a group of people to pick a number between 1-5… most will pick 3.

  • Brian

Yes, it’s true that the numbers are random and that you can’t predict what number either will or will not be drawn. But, there really is a special way to analyze the numbers to reveal patterns. I’ve been doing it for a long time and I’m not selling anything either.

To emphasize, beating the game does not mean trying to predict each winning number and winning on every play. It’s actually not about that. This is where everyone goes wrong. You play with the knowledge that you’ll lose at times and it’s important to utilize a system that pulls you through your losses.

    • LG

      Hey Brian

Sorry, but ‘patterns’ in lottery numbers really don’t mean a thing. It’s like looking at clouds in the sky and letting your brain turn them into puppy dogs or whatever.

Yes, patterns exist when you look back, but they are useless for predicting what comes next in any decent random system. And lotteries are more than random enough (by design, and by law) to make any kind of prediction impossible.

How have you tested your system? Over how many draws? To what level of confidence? And how did it fare compared to expected results for random luck? In other words, what makes you think it works..?
