Hi Neil

I'm not aware of any scratch card book specific to the UK, but the general tactics are the same worldwide anyway. The 'Ace Lee' book is the only one I've read that I'd recommend (but only that one, don't waste your money on ANY of his other lottery books!).

There are probably others that may be as good - let me know if you find one you recommend and I'll let everyone know - but scratchers are not my thing so I don't research them much.

That said - for the UK Lotto instants there is a page on their official site that tells you <a href="http://www.lottery-guy.com/go/UKLottoScratchCards" target="_blank">what big prizes are left</a> - it's vital to check this regularly before buying cards. As you say, no point buying cards where the big prizes have already gone!

Hi. Other than Ace Lee (<a href="http://www.lottery-guy.com/go/HowToWinScratchers" target="_blank">How To Win Scratchers</a>) is there any other book for winning scratch cards in UK? i.e. which are the best ones to buy, plus how do you find out which batches of cards have no prizes left so you don't keep wasting money?

No problem. It will be 261. The midday draw is always the exact inverse of the previous nights draw, but only in Indiana though - it doesn't work anywhere else. Oh, and only in April, on the 1st of the month...

OK, two REAL tips:-
1. Stop playing Pick 3, it's just not worth it (see <a href="http://www.lottery-guy.com/lgblog/how-to-win-the-pick-3-lottery-ish/">how to win the Pick 3 lottery -ish</a> )
2. Predicting numbers is 100% impossible. It's a total lie. (Did you read the post above.!?). Just because some misguided people believe they can does not make it true...

that 7 numbers will be drawn. . .

Haven't been wrong yet!

I can predict 1 to 2 of the numbers in any Pick 3 for the following pick for 67% of all picks. No fancy math or computers... no magic either.

You will not win much with that, but if you can figure out what I am doing we need to chat.

Here is an example from the NC pick 3 lottery, the winning numbers for the middle of Dec 2010 (not in exact order) - followed by my predictions and the next draw.

541 my prediction 2,7,0.
962 was next draw (i got the 2)

Next prediction for 962 is 4,5,9
Next draw was 993. (got the 9)

And one last time the prediction for 993 is 5,6,7
And next draw was 954. (got the 5)

If you can tell me how to profit from this, and it works, I will share how I do it.

Otherwise don't bash me, help me understand why it works. I have not tried it on any lotto game yet. But if my theory works the way I think it does, it can be used on any lotto game with the same level of success.

Hope somebody is reading this and will be nice with their answer.

Hi Russ,

Welcome back to the fold :-)

You can't have it both ways with probabilities though I'm afraid. If every ball has an equal probability, then how can it be be predicted..! It's just not possible.

Lottery statistics may be intriguing but they are of purely historical interest, and no value in predicting anything.

Hi Lottery-guy, Every once in while, I get the urge to return to my lottery programming and playing. It has been almost 10 years since I last picked up this urge.

Yes, you are right, about the equal probability of any numbered ball to be selected, however, I disagree with you that it cannot be somewhat predicted.

I have more than once programmed a computer to predict and collect on 5-6 Classic Lotto games. I have and still use statistics and probablities to predict the numbers.

Now that I am semi retired, I plan to do it again. This coming year. Look for my website.
